Diesel...

I took Diesel up to Clares Monday night for her one to one. Diesel wasn't bothered by any of the equipment and went straight on. She did have a think about the seesaw but with some kind words she was fine, so i am looking forward to Sunday and getting her back on all the equipment. Last night we went to Good citizen and i was really pleased with Diesel and Jess although Jess is really on one at the moment and is testing my patients which i don't have much off. It was really nice at the end letting the dogs have a quick go round Emmas equipment and it was also nice for me to get Diesel on the contacts somewhere else to give me more confidence and both my dogs got there weaves!!!

WBSDS!!!!

These pictures are from last weekend as no pictures this weekend as Ian stayed at home with Gemma. Saturday morning Jess went clear in her agility, i didn't push her as i wanted her to get all her contacts and her weaves which she did, i was pleased with her. Her next round was jumping which she sniffed her way half way round and then missed her weaves so i put her back at them from a walk and she still missed them so i took her out as i know how capable she is and she was taking the mickey so even though she didn't care that i had taken out i felt like i had won. Yesterday she was much better i bought her a new toy which she loved she missed a fence in her first round but she got her weaves and she didn't miss the jump through sniffing so i wasn't disappointed with her. In her last round it was 3 jumps and weaves in a straight line i knew she wasn't going to get her weaves but i thought I'm going to give her every opportunity. So after the second fence i started shouting weaves so she knew what was expected she did slow herself down for once and went in the wrong way so i was pleased that she had slowed herself down so i then decided as for once it was an up down course so i pegged it and left her and she took everything in her line. I was disappointed with her weaves this weekend maybe she just missed Gemma lol.

Diesel was her usual self never really knowing what she might decide to do. She has decided that she will not go on any equipment after the seesaw accident lol so she is hopefully having a one to one tonight to get her confidence back if it would only stop raining. She did 4 rounds on Saturday bless but she managed it. She did an abc which Clare has persuaded us to do as not many people were going clear, Diesel started off really well and then obviously caught her back in the tunnel and then couldn't stop scratching for the rest off the way round lol even the judge asked if she had been stung bless. She did pick herself up for her last round and was winning for a while but then some there people started going clear dam them, lol!! Yesterday we went to do a course but our number was apparently to high so i put Diesel away as i needed to walk 2 courses that were just being made. I walked the one and then went to walk Jessicas course and they put an announcement out that they were calling to the nd of the class and there was no dogs on the line. So i ran round Jessica's course once and then went to get Diesel. Poor Diesel she was tired from running down from the car and then we were straight in and although she did 12 weaves she was tired and had a few poles went under one knocked a pole off with her nose so she didn't have to jump it oh well that's a lesson to me Diesel doesn't go well from running from the car and going straight in lol. She did a lovely jumping round yesterday afternoon and if i would have told her to weave she would have done it and gone clear. I think she went well as Sandy had kindly bought Jess down so i could come straight out with Diesel and go in with Jess. So Amy was holding Jess and Diesel was all excited so may have to try that again some time. Thank you to everyone that helped me this weekend it was much appreciated and had a great time.

Weave practise

Last night me and Nicola ventured up the school for abit of weave practise. Jessica was good although abit distracted for her, the school is normally the only place she does concentrate. Diesel had a great time and the at the end i always have a play with them and the tunnel. Just sending them in from a distance and throwing the ball for them as its really good for Jess i am know able to send her in and cut across and i know shes going to take it which is really nice to know only taken a year and a half for her to realise lol. Diesel was playing the game and then decided she didn't need to bring the ball back and was quite happy to go back in on her own and then decided she was tierd and the tunnel was nice and cool for her to lay in so that was the end of Diesels training session. I didn't do much with Gemma as id prefer to give her abit of a break know and then hope that she comes back into work figthing, thats the plan but she did 12 weaves without me guiding her which was refreshing to know that she does understand and shes good as as soon as you say weave she puts the ankers on and knows shes got to get some control again. Where as Jess is good at weaves in a course if there further round the course if there early she runs past them the muppet so lots of practise still needed!!

My brother as got fed up off me going on to anyone about making me a seesaw and has decided he is going to have ago hummm will comment when its made.....We havn't had Gabby this week so i've been able to go out on my own again with my pooches we've been having some good explores and they've had a great time doing what they want withot Gabby hanging off there necks lol. This weekend we are back at Newbury and it will be our last competition at grade 2 booooo!! I liked grade 2 as theres less dogs and i wanted to give the boxers abit more time at just having fun. So i'm abit gutted Gemma is in season as shes gonna miss this weekend and i think she would have done well as her confidence is growing at every show she goes to. Oh well will have to see how they get on at grade 3 i know Jess will be fine as she prefers trickier courses as you can keep her concentration on you.

Videos from today...

Today started off really well Gemma and Crafty did pairs and we would have won if Craftys mummy hadn't put her hand through the timer but it was a great laugh and we felt confident going into the rest of the day. Diesel has had a strange day and i'm sure in one round she thought the seesaw was the dog walk bless her she scared herself. She was naughty going into her next round but then she went lovely in her jumping class. Gemma has had a fab day just mummy messed her weaves up for her in one round and then she had 2 poles in her jumping but i was pleased as she was working ahead of me. Jess has had a fab day had an amazing jumping round where she worked really well and she came 5th. I was really pleased with that as it felt really good. Her last round i didn't let her go on the dog walk straight so missed her up contact and then got another 5 faults from god knows where i still can't decide after watching the video lol!!

After looking at Ellens videos of last weekend i mentioned to Ian it was a shame our camera doesn't have a video on it and guess what it does and Ian has worked out how to do it, woop woop. So this is a practise that i can also get it on my blog woop woop so look out hopefully more videos to come over the weekend especially of Gemma and then we can see the difference between the two boxers.

Last night i went up the school for a bit of weave practise how glad am i i can train inside it was lashing it down. I jut put 4 jumps in a line all wrong strides so they learn where there legs are and to pick themselves up and get out of trouble. Then had my tunnel at the end and then come back round into the weaves. Jessica was fab and really quick but i don't do what i do at home at a show. I think I'm so worried about getting her into the weaves and forget about everything else. So come on brain!! I tried something with Diesel and Jess to get them more focused at the start. I held them as if in flyball getting them ready and then pretend to let go to see if they want to go and then go and they are both really quick and focused so must try and remember to see if that works this weekend, so much to remember might have got it all sorted by the end of the season. Gemma was fab and bounced my line of fences and then its just the weaves which we will get on the wrong side one day i think its me more than her. I have started to teach Jess left tunnel and right tunnel so i stood in the middle looking at the tunnel and started playing with that and throwing the ball at the exit end of the tunnel she had an amazing time and kept bringing the ball straight back to me to do it again very unlike her, a couple more weeks and hopefully that will click. The boxers were abit confused with this so i took it slowly and will keep practising. My brother came up to watch Nicola and Gabby and was having ago with my pooches so if there crap at the weekend i have someone to blame lol..

Videos from Moreton Morrell

Thanks to Ellen for sending these to me and explaining how to put the on my blog as i have no idea but am looking forward to watching them.....

This weekends plans and ideas.......

The last two weekends i have been really trying to let my dogs take there weave entrances on there own and in some ways have forgotten about other bits of the puzzle that make up the jigsaw as such. The reason Gemma was jumping off her dog walk was because i am not used to her bumbling along it and the i get in front thinking it will hurry her and i start to panic as it doesn't feel normal. So my plan with Gemma is to actually try and run her how i would in training and then when i get to the down bit of the dog walk i walk down with her but i never do that at a show, numpty!!! Even if shes slow onto the dog walk i am going to try and wait back with her to get her confidence up as at home she has a fab dog walk. Jess i am going to concentrate on her weaves again although i do feel more confident know shes had a weekend and never missing them. I am also going to try and stop some of her silly mistakes that cost us a nice round. I can see when she switches off but she is also hard work when she knows people or dogs round the ring so i am going to try and keep this in mind and do my usual of wondering off with Jess when no ones watching. Diesel is just Diesel and i never ever go in with a game plan as along as shes having fun and i'm having fun that's all that matters. I keep threatening as soon as she goes under a fence she's going into anysize to save some money but she just keeps popping over the fences. I started feeding my dogs some Pet spec joint mobility from Top spec about a month ago and it seems it be doing Diesel very well and judging by the pictures of Gemma taken over the weekend its money worth spending. I like having things to concentrate on in the ring as one day it will all come together but gotta put the effort in know for the results later on.....

Wickard easter weekend!!!!!!!

I must start my blog with congratulations to Ian who got a trophy from the club for most improved handler and dog in flyball. He deserves this as he does alot for me and other peolpe with getting little back from it hes just happy to help. It really meant something to him and he was all fluffed up for the rest of the day and Diesel bless!! Although we have had to share our shelf for his trophy aswell!!!!! He is part of the team and without him i wouldn't be able to do it.
I shall start with Jess, she had a fabulous day on Sunday she went clear in every class. She got every weave entry all weekend without me having to get her back and put her in. Shes not as quick as she is at home but i'm hoping she'll get quicker as the more shows she does. We did pairs with Sandy and Henry and both spaniels went clear to our disbelief. Jess did her weaves with her nose on the floor we think following Henrys sent but they both did it. Unfortunately they combined small and medium and we were 3rd but they only placed to 2nd. Jess had a second in a nice jumping round with 12 weaves which she got quicker at the end. Yesterday she made some silly mistakes which i was disappointed with but im still finding it hard running 3dogs. She went clear in her steeplechase at the end of the day which was 1-5 combined and once again she was 4th and they placed to 3rd grrrr!!! But on the plus i am starting to trust her into her weaves.

Gemma had a fab weekend in her first round which was agility she was going clear untill second from home she jumped off the dog walk completely my fault i was to far ahead and i know she is likely to jump off. Its funny i know i don't do the same thing at home as i do in a show i panic, but if i walk behind her i know she gets her contact, something to think about next weekend. She is getting more and more reliable and generally just misses her weave entrances. Yesterday she went clear in her agility and steeplechase which i was really pleased about. Her other round she lost the plot about someone standing ringside watching which is a big reminder to me how far she has come as if she doesn't like the look of someone she won't do it, but she came back round past the person and forgot about her and carried on so i was pleased with that.
Diesel was fab, people love watching her and i love running her. She is very capable know and loves it. She does get a bit distracted sometimes but not for long and then comes back fighting. She got 2 clears on Sunday slow but clear and Monday she went clear and just had a pole down in her jumping class which was a very hard course as i ran it with Gemma and Jess and neither of them went clear but Diesel just had a pole down. Shes getting alot better with her weaves and if i give her space she goes in. I am very pleased as she also jumped every fence i put her to and had a great time.
I must do some congratulations before i forget and i apologise if i get some wrong. Firstly to Sandy and Henry you've had some very bad luck this weekend but you still go along fighting. That was such a shame your first every round you go clear in agility and then get eliminated for leaving your tag on Henry's collar, someone should have told you i wish i'd have been there Saturday and noticed even i feel abit guilty for that one. But we pulled it out of the bag for pairs and you've had a fantastic weekend and you run Henry well as we all know he can be difficult. Next Katie and Lia congratulations your first show and a couple off clear rounds thats amazing and you do really well as if it does go wrong you don't panic like the rest of us and make Lia do it you were both fab. Ellen you had a couple of bad rounds and some good we all feel frustrated for you as Hamish is so capable just those ruddy contacts... I think you got a 16th and something else yesterday that seems to escape my mind but congratulations. Also to Joe a 3rd with Ronny and i can't remember anymore i love watching you and your dogs run i learn alot from you without even realising sometimes so congratulations and a thankyou.
I know must thank Emma as she is one of the people that make the weekends really fun for me and Ian and is always full of praise even if shes having a bad day she always manages to say congratulations and sees me and Ian for who we are, cheers chick! I never really get to see Maisy run as im always running mine somewhere else but the most important thing is Maisy has a great time. Also must thank Amy as when i watched her with Dylan i started shouting abit louder for my weave entrances and it worked all weekend so thanks Amy i learnt something from you aswell. I must thank my pooches for going so lovely for me all weekend.

Fab weekend!!!!!!!

What a fantastic weekend we've had thanks to my dogs and some fantastic friends. This was our first weekend in the caravan and apart from a few hitches with running out of gas although we bought a new one that wouldn't go on it was fantastic and perfect size (although my car wasn't pleased). What an amazing picture of Diesel that Ian took. This was her 1st run of the weekend and the wall was the 3rd fence and i was very excited about doing it as it was the 3rd in a straight line so they would have a good run on it. Ian was instructed that he must get this picture after missing Diesel doing the water jump at moreton morrel but getting everyone else. So here it is she jumped it massive her back must feel better. Diesel was my most consistent dog of the weekend, she jumped every fence which i still can't believe, got all her contacts. She only came out the ring with 5 faults in all her classes how amazing and those faults where either her weave entry or knocking a pole. After training with her on Monday night i gave up with her as she just wasn't concentrating at all so i really didn't think she'd pull this weekend out the bag but she did bless her. I left her and Gemma on 2 rounds yesterday as this was there first 2 day show and they had both worked extremely hard for me.
Jess is a little muppet bless her although she won her agility round so has know taken us all up to grade 3 uhh ohh!!!!!! Her first round was 1-7 helter shelter and she went flying past a fence and then back jumped it the moose so was e'd out that. I took her straight into do her agility and she was a darling although we were 3 from home and the weaves where there and i was screaming weave and she just stopped in time before she went past the second pole and i just managed to get her in and she went clear. The rest of her rounds where abit hit and miss but she has done very well compared that i was using this weekend as abit of a training weekend for the rest of summer and let go off my comfort blanket and see if she will take things herself. I think i may just have to sacrifice a few rounds this to remind her of a few things, lol!!!

Gemma was interesting and i'm learning alot about her, i think our partnership will take a while to get but once were there shes gonna be great. I've been pushing her in training and i think i forgot that this was her first outside big show show and i must remember that she has come a very long way. Saturday she mainly had faults i.e weaves. Yesterday she missed a fence completely in a straight line which puzzled me abit but Ians got it on video so will have a look tonight i think she may have got in abit deep and was tired. But in that round i did a lovely cross behind her which was a first in a competition. Her next round was an agility round which i slowed myself down so as not to push her and she did a lovely clear round so i left her on that as i was really pleased with her. I think she needs abit of time to get used to the situations and then start pushing her. She has done some fantastic weaves this weekend and she does get rather worked up some times and when she starts shaking i know shes not going to do very well so i should take her away and get her in a better frame of mind, it takes time to learn how they click.

Congratulations to Ellen and Hamish for there 10th thats amazing out of over 150 dogs. Emma and Maisy are still learning little bits about each other but there is definate improvement and bits of her rounds are coming together, and can you tell Maisy not to give Jess tips of how to screw her rounds up lol. Anne and Crafty had a fab day on saturday, compared that Anne was late after getting lost and was unable to walk 2 rounds they both did very well. I've never seen Crafty work so well before she was going really well very exciting at the start of the season.

So i've had a great weekend thanks to my dogs and can't wait till next weekend!!
Diesel enjoying her jumping!!!!

Diesel still flying!!

Soo excited!!!!!!!!!!

This afternoon we are travelling to shuttleworth show. This will be our first camping show with the caravan woop woop!! Ian fetched it this morning so it is currently outside the house ready to be loaded up, with some very funny looks form the neighbours!! Unfortunately Gabby is picking up on my excitement and is generally going mad round the house. I'm really looking forward to this weekend as we've been doing lots of practise. I'm hoping Jess still remembers her weaves as she has just seemed to realise how to get in and push through at the start as well as the end. My aim with Gemma this weekend is to get one sets of weaves as they are coming on really well. Diesel is just Diesel and you never know what may happen... he ho hopefully my pooches will be nice to me and go well.

Last night i went to good citizen class with Diesel. I can't remember the last time she did any type of obedience so i was very impressed with how well she worked, if i only i could put more effort in during the week and practise she would be quite good. Right better go and start packing.... update in Sunday!
