Gundog show!!!

Yesterday me and Sandy took our gundogs to the gundog show (and Stig lol). After queing at an accident on the M54 we managed to get to the venue at 8.30 with a very bored puppy although i had taken him round the field before hand. They started the show at 9 sue to the accident so we had time to walk the dogs and toilet them. We had a steeple chase corse and an agility and a jumping, we got two attempts at the agility and jumping and our best time was the one they took. Sandys Jesse got a 2nd in her agility. The steeplecase course was a nice flowey course and i was looking forward to it, i put Jess in standard so the poles where a bit lower. She was very weird and did 2 fences and a tunnel and then got spooked by something and kept looking behind her and at the judge, very strange and in the end i didn't finish the course and somehow the judge had realised and didn't e me so i got 5 faults for a pole and if she didn't have the pole she'd have been in the placings naughty judge!!! I then took her into her agility we spent alot of time watching the small and medium dogs as there was the dog walk with a tunnel under it and everyone was going through the tunnel lol. She was abit sluggish and i managed to keep her going and she went straight up the dog walk what a good girl and in her second attempt she came out the weaves as she was looking at the judge so i don't no what was wrong with her as she really isn't a spooky dog the only thing i can think off was when we training up the school she got scarred by a noise can't remember what there called and she took off which is really unlike her so whether she heard something like that sound i don't no. Her last 2 jumping rounds i tried a different tactic and when she was on the line i said tunnel and she was off and the second time i said frame and again she was off as i do this at home as it winds her up and Ian gets pissed off with her jumping around lol!! Jess got a 5th in the agility as there was only 5 clears obviously we were the slowest. My boxers have had a week off and will have a further couple know and they can get abit fat and Jess can know enjoy a couple of weeks break and i can concentrate on Stig he he the little monkey!! After watching some amazing weaves yesterday that wearnt collies i've been kicked up the bum and am going to really concentrate this winter on getting all there weaves quicker and taking the entrance without me also i have decided i need to teach Gemma a stop again on her contacts as i think know shes more excited about the agility she may be quicker down the contact i'm sure i'll change my ind in a couple of weeks lol!! Stig starts his puppy training thursday night and i feel the need to start training him although hes had a nice time being a puppy, he went to the vets for a puppy party last week, he didn't like the older dogs and much preferred cuddles with the kids and once the older puppys where taken out the room the left over puppies where off and i am pleased to say he was tiered after that!!

Gemma wins a class!!!!

Well what an amazing weekend i've had with my amazing pooches and friends. On saturday we went to barking mad which i was looking forward to as its a great venue and inside. I wasn't going to take Diesel as she has been poorly with a bad stomach and she went really lame on her back leg so i was going to leave her at home with Ian. Me and Nicola went training last thursday and i took Diesel up whilst i helped Nicola with Gabby and Diesel (by thursday she wasn't lame no more) was ragging on her lead and ever time i went to put a pole up or demonstrate to Nicola Diesel was off trying to get over the fences, so at the end i let her have a little run round and she was off!! So i took her with us just to see what she'd do as the past couple of shows ive only ran her once at a show as she doesn't seem to be enjoying it. Well i don't no whats chaged but she has flown round all her courses and dug in deep, i love running her when shes like this as she tries so hard for me, shes gone clear all weekend apart from one course she got 5 at her weaves so i'm hoping the new Diesel keeps going as she has a great time. Jessica was rather distracted by the smells of the in door venues but soon had a fence down and reminded her she needed to concentrate he he!! Shes had a fab weekend and only having 2 poles all weekend well i say poles actually wiping out the whole of the fences hopefully scaring herself and getting abit of respect!!
Gemma has also had an amazing weekend, she has flown round all weekend and i think the funniest thing yesterday the agility course went all the way round the outside up to the finish but then you had to come back in and do a jumping sequence well she was off and went all the way round the outside and then over the last fence and e'd but it was fab to see her with so much confidence and running on honing off the seesaw bless her!! We went into the time fault and out course and Diesel got i think 19 obstacles, Jess got to 20 so me and Gemma where the last dog in. She was flying and realy good as there was 2 tunnels together and she comleted the course once and then she as onto her second and she was off i pu her in the tunnel and lucikly there was nearly a straight line of fences after so i pegged it and so did she so she did 22 obsacles beating everyone at the show as the person in 2nd did 21 and even if shed have only copmleted 21 she was still quicker to the finish so would still hae won. Isn't it funny at the end of the season we get it together lol. No i prefer the smaller shows and i know the dogs certainly do less stressful for them and of course know Stigs here they've gotta pull there socks up lol.
Results
Gemma
1st in Time Fault and out
3rd in Beat the judge
Diesel
9th in Time Fault and out
12th Beat the judge
Jess
5th in Time Fault and out
Stig is know aloud to come out and play and is having a fantastic time although not at all tierd from his experiences. Hes had so many cuddles and watched all the other dogs. We even took him to the paddock thursday and he was aloud to run round whilst we put the equipment up. I was dragging the tunnel out and thought thats gone abit heavy, i look down theres Stig poppin his head out of it wagging his bum bless him. For my training class there all doing contacts on the floor so the planks where layed flat out there he is running up and down them like a pro on his own. Then when we were putting everything away we were squeezing the tressels back in and then next thing we know hes walking up the seesaw to me ahhhh. We couldn't move as all the equipment was packed round us and i didn't want him to jump off, luckily Nicola was at the bottom and stood on the bottom so it didn't tip and he walked all the way to the end to me and then i took him off phew!!! So we shall have to keep on the lead bless him he had a great time.
Congratulations to Ellen for winning jumping and agility and thankyou to Hamish for having a pole in tfo otherwise think he may have beat Gemma lol. Also Sandy for all your achievements and Amy and Alice for there fantastic results. Thankyou to everyone who has helped me over the weekend it was very much appreciated and saved my legs journeys to the car, thanks guys your all stars!!!

Stig/Dog Vegas/UKA

Ive been meaning to blog all week just no time to do it. Last weekend we travelled to dog vegas. It is one of those shows that were going to remember for next year and camp there, it was a lovely place. All the courses were really nice and Gemma and Jess had numerous clears just not quick enough to be in the placings although i was really pleased with how they worked. Diesel really struggled last weekend and i only did one course with her bless her somedays she just really can't be arsed lol!!

Then Monday came and we went to pick Stig up, hes been a very lucky boy as Ian has been off work all week due to breaking one of his fingers. We didn't hear a word from him on the way home as he slept woop woop! All of my dogs have been really good with him although he doesn't care about them, he potters under them and plays with all there toys oblivious to the others. So we've had a fantastic week with him and hes looking promising.

Yesterday me and Sandy went to our first UKA show and we really enjoyed it and can't wait for the next. We had to have our spaniels measured again and jess measured 0.7 of a cm over medium lol. Diesel was well up for it again and went clear all day shes a funny monkey. Gemma had a crap agility but then had a fab jumping round she got e'd about 10 times lol but she was jumping everything and having a great time which was funny ive never seen her in the ring like that it was funny. Then she had a nice clear in her steeplechase. Jess got a 3rd in her agility which i was really pleased about. She went clear in her steeplechase and in the jumping round you had to call them off the tunnel and i thought the boxers would go in but no they came back to me so i think i relaxed abit with Jess and in she popped he he. Unfortunately my car is blowing out black smoke and they seem to think it may be the turbo which is very expensive so it may be bye bye to my car and hence why i am not at the show today boo!!
