Productive couple of days...

Yesterday we went to silverstone in the morning, boo! I managed to squeeze my dogs into get there backs done so couldn't get to the border collie utility day. Ian was going to silverstone and had 4 free tickets so was taking some friends and he wanted me to go. So i was a very good child and went for a couple of hours and Ian shall be reminded i went all through the summer. It was freezing so we came home early and went to the pub. Yesterday afternoon we sorted all our bits and pieces out for the caravan. We all piled into the car and took the dogs for a nice walk before it started to hail. Then we sorted the caravan out which was nice as haven't really seen it much and the dogs had there first glimpse's. We got back and i took the dogs to have there backs done. Diesel had a very tight knot in her neck but he worked it out. Gemma was very relaxed and was laying down for most of it or trying to give Jerry kisses. All is well so i'm hoping for good things from Diesel as they had a nice rest last night and this morning was only a short walk so they don't mess the good work up. When we got home i dragged Ian to the garage as there was a few things we had forgotten to put in the caravan and decided to start painting the jumps. We finished them this morning and i can't wait to use them!!

New pink balls......

We've just been to pets at home where as you can see we bought some pink balls. For all off you that no Gemma know that the only reason she does agility is because of a certain type of ball you can buy from pets at home the freak. The pink balls were three for two hence why we had to change but when we got to the till they were a pound and still got one free, bargain. Jess is grumping as she is not aload one as with in 2 secs it will all be in pieces and i may be being paronied but i'd prefer not to pay for another operation to have the bits taken out off her stomach.
Picture below is off Jess when i wasn't lookin and Diesel gave in to her...

I seem to have got rid off the wiff in my house, it was either Ian who smelt as he went at the same time that i put Gabbys blankets in the wash from her cage. Think she must have had a wazz in there and we hadn't noticed how minging, anyway the smell has gone thank god as i was beginning to think something was dead somewhere...
Diesel and Gemma are having there backs done tomorrow which i pleased i've got round too. Been as Lee had to cancel on us i'm using the money that i had saved to have there backs done.
Ohhh i've just looked at Gemmas ball and she has put a hole in it, poo!!!!!

No more stitches woop woop!!!!!!!!

Ahh a sigh of relief we have managed to keep another load of stitches in!!!!! Its so nice when there out we can go back to normality. Poor Diesel she hated wearing her lamp shade but she really doesn't help herself by scratching or rubbing on the sofa, oh well all over know. As you can see shes got a good scar and you can see how much they've taken away and her nose is abit more closed up, as one vet said good job she had some extra skin. I really must start getting her fit again know and start doing some training.

I know i'm not particularly house proud but there is a very funny wiff around my house at the mo. We have mopped, cleaned everywhere and everything is going through the wash but it still wiffs, so the back doors are wide open all though i think i may have to do abit more investigating although my house isn't that big to hid things that shouldn't be there....
Gemmas weaves are going really well, i can't believe how quick she is suddenly picking it up although i will then have to start working on the other side. We also had a little play with Gabby the other night, she had a fabulous time, shes mastered the tunnel alot quicker than Nicola did, lol!! We got her going through the jump wings with Nicola running along the side so she gets used to it and teaching Gabby her left and right. We only did 10minutes with her but that was enough and she looks very promising we shall keep tinkering with her every know and then, gives her something to think about. Ians trying to get me along plank of wood that i can paint and then start teaching Gabby contacts and also teach mine running contacts..

Caravan is home.....

Yesterday Ian went to pick the caravan up. Woop Woop its home and i still can't believe it is so clean on the inside, we will have to really try to keep it that way. I have bought some doggie blankets to put over the seats and am going to invest in some covers as well. Ian was pleased with how well my car towed although my car has been making some rather random noises which i try to ignore. We just need to get a few things together for it i.e cutlery and so on and then not this weekend but next we'll be off in it hopefully having a great time... and lots of pictures!!!!!!!

By the way

Sos i'm rather tired at the mo forgot to say Jess won her agility round woop woop!!!!!!!

Perfect poches....

Ahhh what a great day, we started with Jess having a lovely time in her agility round at my expense, although she hasn't been to a show since January and i was trying to trust her with her weaves so was quite nervous going in. Hey ho she messed that one up, her next round was jumping and i'm pleased to say she got her weave entry and came second. Her last agility round was fab and yet again got her weave entry so i'm going to start trusting her that she does know what weave means.
Gemma was amazing again her first round was a jumping round and i had to do some serious calling her off the tunnel but she did it and went clear. Her next round was another jumping and just got in front of the weaves so got 5 faults but had a lovely round with some tricky turns and traps in so i was really chuffed. Her last round was agility which she was very tierd but tried hard but had quite a few faults although she got some good weaves and did the seesaw so i was really pleased and can't wait untill she's got a few more shows under her belt and feels more confident. We've had an amazing day and i must thank my pooches very much!!!!!!

Diesel update!!!!!!

Ahh poor Diesel, she was very pleased to see me when i went to pick her up and was very perky. I thought she'd be alot worse as when i went to pick Jess up from being spade it was awful and she kept falling over. She got suck trying to get in the car with the cone on and i couldn't help but laugh. She had some tea last night and was fine. Ian has taken her for a little walk round the block this morning and said she was up or it to start but soon slowed down. She can have her cone off today but i'm going to leave it on as she scratches her face lots anyway and i can't afford to have it re stitched.
Last night i did some training with Gemma, she is amazing i never thought she'd get this far, i really didn't. She is so quick and with another couple of months training shes going to be great. I'm trying not to rush her and let her do it in her own time as i don't want her to get to much and switch off as its very easy for boxers to turn round and say actually i've had enough i can do it. If i can crack the weaves with her i think she may give a few collies a run for there money...

Diesel

We dropped Diesel off this morning at the vets, she was rather excited bless. The vet is very keen to take it off and abit extra just in case there are any other bad cells that may be lurking around. Its a very difficult place to take it off and there may be some tissue left open as it may not sticth back up. The vet warned us that it won't be very pretty when I pick her up. So fingers crossed it all goes well and will let you know how she is later......

Great news..

We went to see the caravan Sunday morning and was really impressed. We couldn't believe how clean and tidy it was, won't last long as we've bought it. It was perfect and was just what we were looking for well alot better than what we thought we'd end up with. Look forward to seeing every one in the summer and invite you all in for a cup of tea unless your Emma Saddler where it will be a glass of wine. We are really chuffed and can't wait for our first weekend away.
Training was abit hit and miss tonight Gemma went extremely well and fast Diesel was abit difficult on the other hand she goes under alot of fences, but after her little nose job on Wednesday when shes fit again i'm going to really crack on with her and get her super fit. Jess was back to her usual self going really well on her first go and then getting abit bored. The tyre was out to practise with and for some reason she has seemed to have forgotten what it is, she was soon off again with treats....

Boxers pull it out the bag and Dylan!!!!!!!!!!

What a good weekend i seem to be having... Last night we went to see x-factor at the nec. It was amazing and i had a great time bopping along it was fab. This morning me Amy, Emma and Anne set off for Tuffley agility show. We started with an agility round which consisted with jump weaves and too my amazement Gemma did beautiful weaves unfortunately she did get eliminated as she went back in the tunnel but that was my fault but all in all i was really chuffed with her. The next round was helter shelter with no weaves, although the course looked quite easy it had a few draws but had a lovely ending to it which was a line of fences in a long curve. Gemma flew round in 21sec and went clear, she was 3 seconds off the collies but i did slow down at one point just to make sure she'd got the next line of fences, didn't want to risk not going clear. Anne and Crafty also went clear with a fabulous round in a time off 20secs, Anne really worked hard and got her reward congratulations!!! Gemmas last round was a jumping round, quite a tricky round and i was doing a different turn to everyone else but i must say it worked really well with Gemma and we were doing so well that we only had weaves and a jump to go but i started flapping going into the weaves and she just got her nose past the weave entrance so 5 faults but i was amazed with how well she worked today, she did everything she could to please me so i must thank her for that.
Diesel on the other hand reminded me that she wanted to do training rounds, lol. She went under rather a few fences but then i can't remember jumping single poled with her for ages. I'm going to have to insist on doing single poles as she has to learn and theres no point in me paying money to go round courses when shes going to go under. She got all her contacts on a positive and had a lovely seesaw went in the flat tunnel and on her last run made a weave entry and did some lovely weaves so i am very pleased with her. She was tired on the last run so i need to up the anti with getting her fit.
Everyone else had a great day, Amy and Summer are really showing potential especially as Summer is lacking alot of training unlike the rest of the dogs, she put them all to shame in the first round, lol. Emma and Maisy are going strong and i know we say it every time that it won't be long until they go clear but it won''t. They are still learning how each other click but once they get it god help the rest of us, watch this space as she'll be on our heals. Also Emma ran Dylan in the jumping class and did a lovely clear round with some amazing weaves and came 10th how amazing, Dylan had a lovely time and was very pleased with himself. We've had a fab day and congratulations to everyone you all worked very hard.
We are up early again tomorrow morning to look at a caravan so will let you know how we get on. But most importantly boxers rule!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Just a quickie....

We have decided that been as Diesel is on antibiotics we are going to leave her little operation for a week and give the antibiotics time to see if they work. I have re booked her in for Wednesday the 18th of March but otherwise the antibiotics won't have time to work so fingers crossed everyone.
Training was very interesting last night as the boxers went really well for me and although no weave entries were found they were good once in. Jess on the other hand i found hard, not her fault i will add. She hasn't trained for over a month and ive got into the boxer style of running my dogs and i suppose my reactions have quickened up and then obviously Jess cant run as fast so i felt like i was waiting for her or making turns to quick making her go wrong, i'm sure i'll get back into the swing of her or it may make her a bit quicker...

Ahhhhhhhhh.............

Another vets visit this morning unfortunately. A couple of weeks ago we came home and Diesel had this red spot on her nose. We thought that she had scratched it during the afternoon and didn't think much more about it. Its gradully been getting bigger and looks rather sore so i took her to have it checked out this morning. The vet thinks its some sort of growth and wants to remove it athough its in a difficult position. So on Wednesday shes going in for the day luckily she does like going to the vets although probably wont after being left for the day. The vet said we can wait to have it sent off but i would prefer to know what it is.... Keep you posted!

Busy couple of days...

Me and Anne went up to the school Thursday night to do abit of training. I really enjoy getting a few bits out of our own and playing, it gives you chance to play around. Jess was intoduced again to agility after well over a month of not doing it. She was really good and didn't put a paw wrong and i'm still practising getting her weave entrys, practise makes perfect!!!!!!!! Diesel is rather interesting as although she may be very slow but she always gets her entrys on the easy side weaves. I'm starting to feel more confident with her that she knows what shes doing so have started to quicken her up which worked well, but she soon gets tierd so little and often. Gemma was even more interesting, i remembered something Emma had mentioned, she watches my body completly and any wrong move i make and she goes wrong. So i tried a few different things with her and funnily enough i have to do the same thing that Anne does with Crafty. I've been trying to help Anne with her weaves and isn't it funny all the things ive been saying to Anne i need to do with Gemma, although it has taken me weeks to realise. So i need to stand back give her space and let her get on with it, if i make sure im behind her i can't get in front and push her through. Although tomorow night it will probably all go horribly wrong, i just need to remember what i have learnt about my dogs..
Friday we all went to Crufts, there wasn't as many people there and it was a different atmosphere but i must say i enjoyed it more as less people means no fighting your way through the crowds. We did miss the pedigree stand for treats for the pooches.... Oh well Tesco had denta sticks on offer!! I managed to aquire a Joules dog bowl and was very proud of myself although no one else seems to be proud appart from Ian as it was free. We had a great day and watched alot of agility and the YKC ring as have never really taken it all in before. I have new hopes and dreams which is always a good thing althoug Ian didn't think that much to me and Diesel doing heel work to music, i was thinking rhianna and umbrella....
Congratulaions to the brickyard babies for coming 4th its brill and you all deserve it!!

Phewww!!!!!!

This morning we were at the vets at 8am, thank god Jess has had her stiches out! Its all fine and looks really good. She wasn't to keen on going in but soon had a sweety. Its such a sigh of relief as she won't keep still and does everything at full pelt without thinking. Where as if it was one of the boxers i'm quite sure they'd take the oppourtunity to have a good sleep. Were back on the road know i can't remember the last time she did agility it was before the snow. I did a tiny bit of weaving with her whilst we were away she she swore blankey that she'd never seen them before lol. I'm sure she'll get back in the swing quickly again....
Gemma also had her yearly booster. I was in two minds whethter to have it done, as you hear more and more stories off it affecting dogs and recently my uncles dog was put down at 2 years old after her injection... So i will worry about her know for a couple of weeks.
Tomorow we are going to crufts for the day, i love crufts its such a great day out. It will be a strange day though as it will be very different as alot of people have pulled out. There will be alot if us and were taking Joe the crufts virgin with us and my brother who is also a crufts virgin. Good luck to every one who is competeting over the next couple of days i am very jealous of you all.... Special good luck to the brickyard babies flyball team, you can borrow Diesel if you need to as i know shes soooo quick, lol!!!!!!!!!!!!

Long weekend in scotland!

Last weekend we snatched a quick weekend in Scotland before the agility season starts, how sad are we!!! We had a great time just relaxing really and eating lots. Not much walking was done as even with all my efforts of poo bag vet wrap poo bag more vet wrap another poo bag and even more vet wrap, Jess was still intent on going everywhere and anywhere, jumping off walls in the stream at the bottom of the garden and so on. We couldn't go far as Jess would probably take her bandage off and sticthes would be left in a bush some where. They are only just still in but are coming out tomorrow thank god as its really hard to keep bandaging or maybe im being abit paranoid!! The boxers had a great time in the garden as they all had there own toys and we spent hours just messing around. I did take abit of equipment up but the dogs were far more interested in there toys and the stream, oh well i think the dogs were trying to tell me they were also on holiday!!
I feel a few calories heavier as we ate very well, well i did Ian had food poising but that didn't stop me Katy and Brian having a lovely curry and the dogs having some poppadoms!!! So once Jess's stitches are out we will be back at it getting fit again.
Hopefully we may be going to have a look at a caravan this weekend its a friend of a friend but we have no idea what to expect so fingers crossed as we need one by the start of April, trying not to panic too much...

As you can see Diesel loves ponies but abit to much, these poor ponies where at the bottom of the garden fortunately with a stream between as Diesel is very full on but then soon realises theres poo on the floor, what a Muppet. Gabby arrived this morning and seems to have grown a foot since i last saw her!!!
